A Resource for Elder Law & Public Policy
The Sadin Institute for Law and Public Policy provides resources and professional development for lawyers, lay advocates, social workers, medical professionals, and others working on behalf of older adults. Our initiatives seek to advance the rights and well-being of vulnerable older adults, and we are nationally recognized in the fields of guardianship and daily money management. Our professional training programs address a variety of topics including Article 81 guardianship, healthcare policy and decision-making, financial exploitation, and accessing benefits such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Article 81 Guardianship Training
We offer a highly regarded daylong training program for lawyers and lay advocates aspiring to become guardians, professionals who would like to serve as court evaluators in guardianship proceedings, and others involved in the guardianship process. This training is approved by the New York State Office for Court Administration and is eligible for CLE credit.
We pioneered a daily money management in case management agencies in New York City, and conducted the first review of guardianship cases across New York State, among other initiatives.
