The concept of cumulative disadvantage helps us understand inequality during peoples’ lives. Inequalities also impact families and communities. Understanding cumulative disadvantage is step one in repairing it. At Brookdale, we study how cumulative disadvantage connects to health and well-being. We can then create effective programs to help people live healthier lives.
