For Next Avenue (April 3), Liz Seegert spoke with Brookdale executive director Ruth Finkelstein and others about the threat of social isolation during the coronavirus crisis. Dr. Finkelstein pointed out that being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely, and that both younger and older adults can help others by volunteering to make phone calls or connect online.
