Work shapes the aging processes during adulthood and affects later-life health. The rise of aging populations around the world affects labor markets. Societies need to start considering the timing of retirement and the benefits of delaying retirement. To be productive, societies with older populations will need their workers to stay on the job longer. Individuals will have to have increased support to stay healthy, and their work will have to be meaningful.
