Dr. Mark Brennan-Ing, Brookdale’s director of research and evaluation, authored an entry on HIV and Aging for the 2nd edition of the SAGE Encyclopedia of LGBTQ+ Studies. The work provides an overview of factors leading to the increase in the proportion of older people with HIV, and discusses health challenges, behavioral health concerns, social care networks, sexual health, and coping/adaptation/resilience in this population. The entry concludes with future directions in addressing the aging of the HIV population and suggested readings.
