How we function across our work lives influences the ways that we age, and affects the ways that we continue to be willing to work and to be productive at work. This is important, right now, to society at large, to all of us as individuals, and to employers. Work is only one example of how, by changing our society and our environment we can influence the course of aging. Aging is not an inevitable path of decline. Promoting cognitive resilience helps our creativity in civic engagement, the educational system, the arts, and participation in housing, neighborhoods, and governance.
