In an article published by CWI Labs, Brookdale’s director of strategic policy initiatives, Christian González-Rivera, and executive director Ruth Finkelstein present an analysis of data that shows that policymakers are asking the wrong questions when weighing how to safely reopen the economy. There is too much emphasis on age and not enough on underlying health conditions. To successfully restart the economy, “all workplaces must adopt environmental and individual health and safety precautions, rather than isolating categories of workers.”
