Brookdale researchers recently presented findings from a mixed-methods study of health care engagement among people living with HIV at two conferences.
- Senior research associate Jasmine Manalel presented quantitative findings in a poster at IDWeek in Los Angeles. This part of the study used claims data to analyze primary care and behavioral care visits before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Senior research associate Jennie Kaufman presented qualitative findings in a poster at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting & Expo in Minneapolis. Interviews with 40 participants suggested that strong relationships, centralized care, and phone or video access appeared to reduce stress and disruption in health care caused by the pandemic.
