Christian González-Rivera speaks at AARP town hall on age discrimination

Christian González-Rivera participated in a town hall discussion on age discrimination in the workforce hosted by AARP on Oct. 16. González-Rivera emphasized the importance of ensuring that older job seekers have advocates in their corner to help them overcome ageism among employers—yet there is almost nowhere they can turn to for help.

Joining him on the panel were council members Margaret Chin, chair of the NYC Council Committee on Aging, Helen Rosenthal, and Adrienne E. Adams; Zoey Chintz, senior policy counsel at the NYC Commission on Human Rights; Bobbie Sackman, a member leader at New York Caring Majority; and Daniel Garcia-McGuire, deputy public advocate for education and opportunity at the Office of the New York City Public Advocate.
