Christian González-Rivera, Brookdale’s director of strategic initiatives, has been appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio to the New York City Rent Guidelines Board (RGB) as a public member. Every year, the RGB is responsible for setting rent adjustments for the more than one million rent-stabilized housing units in the city, which are home to about 2.4 million New Yorkers.
Board members consider a series of economic research reports and testimony from owners, tenants, advocacy groups, and industry experts in determining rent adjustments.
All RGB meetings are open to the public and all interested New Yorkers are encouraged to observe the proceedings. To listen in, consult the meeting schedule, then connect via YouTube livestream or by telephone. Recordings of proceedings will be posted on the RGB’s website.
