Age discrimination in the workplace threatens to deprive older adults of their livelihoods. As people live longer, their retirement savings may not last until the end of their lives. Guaranteed employer-paid pensions are disappearing, which leaves many more people without the retirement security they need. And in high-cost areas like New York City, Social Security is not enough to make ends meet. Brookdale is working to describe all the forms that age discrimination can take, develop legal strategies, and create policies to prevent this form of discrimination.
