Brookdale’s executive director, Ruth Finkelstein, was honored for her leadership and contributions to the field of aging at the 50th Annual Conference of the State Society on Aging of New York in Saratoga Springs, October 16-17, 2023.
christian gonzález-rivera, Brookdale’s director of strategic policy initiatives, co-chaired the conference this year. Mark Brennan-Ing, director of research and evaluation, presented “Taking charge: Social support dynamics among older adults and significant others in COVID-19 vaccination and mitigation efforts,” which examined the role that older adults played in providing information about COVID-19 vaccines within their social networks. Senior research associate Jasmine Manalel discussed “Care needs and support resources of older women living with HIV.”
